Monday: Swim

Me at HTC, don't you love the men's team that ran in drag.  They are standing in the background!
The Sloans were on it today.  We were up, washing clothes, making well-balanced breakfasts, brewing coffee and steeping tea in the wee hours.  Sloan IV and I were out the door by 8:02 AM and arrived at swim early.  The gym nursery entrance went off without a hitch and I was on the pool deck early and I small splashed my way into the pool like a champ.  Steven set up a 4100 meter workout and I finished 4000 meters.  There would not have been a big issue with fitting in the last 100, but I reached a point of apathy today.  Workout as follows:

  • 400 swim
  • 200 kick
  • 4 x 75 kick/ drill/ swim IM
  • 4 x 50 drill/ swim IM
  • 4 x 25 swim IM
  • 2 x 500 pull
  • 2 x 75 kick
  • 4 x 25 kick
  • 2 x 75 kick
  • 4 x 25 kick
  • 4 x 200 pull
I am leaving out something, but it all ended up being 4000.

On the way home, I fell into a bit of a sugar situation when we stopped at the grocery to pick up some pasta and I had a kiddie cookie and then Young Sloan asked for a donut and ate one bite, and I was forced to eat most of it before throwing it behind the wheel of the car in the parking lot. It is uber dangerous to hit the grocery after swim, as swim produces a ravenous hunger that is typically satiated in some terribly unhealthy way in the baked goods aisle.

At home, I made more buttery noodles and they were amazing.  Work was cancelled and I spent an afternoon embroiled in household chores.

Track workout tomorrow!!
