This morning was a remarkably easy morning, Young Sloan gleefully and of his own accord scrambled into the car to head to the gym. We were there early, and I was on deck at 8:28 AM. I arrived simultaneously with our coach, and I will say that he was shocked.
In the pool, we swam about 2800 meters. It was a lighter day as I was somewhat worn out from yesterday, and just not feeling up to giving it my all two days in a row. I forgot to photograph the workout, but I do remember some IMing and some kicking. At home, I was completely ravenous and ate a boatload of food, before slowing down enough to realize that it was a not a Japanese eating contest, it was mere lunch.
While Sloan the Younger was napping, I got in a Gilad workout, and when he woke up, I felt that it was the perfect time to give potty training another go. My child was dubious at best, and I will tell you in advance that the whole endeavor went at least 70 percent worse than my last attempt. After the expected "want my diaper" tantrumming, there were multiple escapes from the bathroom, refusals to sit on the potty, accident upon accident before the final act of defiance.
The final act of defiance was a one Young Sloan racing into the bathroom at top speed and grabbing his baby potty seat off the toilet and throwing it in the bathtub, slamming down the toilet lid and kicking the stool that he is supposed to stand on to get to the potty. "Not use 'mode!!!" was his rallying cry, and it was quite impassioned. If Napoleon had half his fervor, it is really no wonder that he accomplished what he did.
Anyway, I am going to give it a half-hearted try tomorrow. I will let him pick out some gummie treats at the grocery store and get a heftier rewards system going, but I do not expect much, friends. I am beaten down and disheartened. After the terribleness of this afternoon, when Sloan III came to take Sloan IV outside for some yard play, I laid down on the couch to clear my mind and decided that I would not call this my favorite day, NAY, my favorite week of parenting.
Track workout tomorrow!!
