Today, I was up at 6:30 AM and still managed to be late for swim. This is because the car seat was in my husband's car and there were not one but TWO dirty diapers. I did manage to get to the pool, however and our coach Steven was back. We had a great workout, which I will try to relay to you:
- 100 warm up
- 6 x 100 swim
- 6 x 75 kick
- 2 x 400 swim
- 4 x 200 IM
- 8 x 25 IM
- 400 swim
At home, Ivan played with his dad and I got ready to head out to have lunch with a friend, which was so much fun. A great visit with my college roommate, before heading home again.
At home, I loaded Ivan into the jog stroller, but it was way too cold for him, SO, I took him to the McDonald's play place so that he could get out a bit of energy. McDonald's play places are bleak, oh so bleak. Terrible people, terrible children. Today, I was forced to crawl all the way up the plastic tower to rescue Ivan when he got stuck in the slide. It reinforced the unfortunate fact that there is no coolness left after children, you have to slither up plastic towers amidst throngs of other people's terrible children to rescue your child who is scared to go down the slide once he is at the top, and because there is no alcohol available to wash away this terrible knowledge, you are forced to buy a happy meal for your child of which you eat at least half. This trip to hell ruins your chances of doing a Gilad workout, I mean do I really need to go on? Anyway, I did go back to evening swim. Shared my lane with Jonathan Whitacre, a great lane mate. Work out as follows:
- 300 warm up
- 400 kick
- 2 x 50 @ :55
- 400 pull without paddles
- 4 x 50 swim @ :50
- 300 pull without paddles
- 6 x 50 swim @ :50
- 200 pull without paddles
- 8 x 50 swim @ :50
- 100 pull
- 10 x 25 swim practicing flip turns
- 100 cool down
Heading to bed!!
