Monday: Swim and Gilad

So today, I vaulted out of bed at top speed and fixed Ivan some breakfast and made myself a smoothie, from which I left out the ice. I find ice to be rather integral, and it was a bummer, but I was well-fed regardless. Ivan and I made it to swim reasonably on time, and Dennis was substituting for Steven. Workout as follows:

  • 8 x 50 kick
  • 6 x 75 (fly/back/breast)
  • 6 x 75 (fly/back/free)
  • 8 x 50 kick
  • 8 x 50 (IM order) (this meant two 50's of butterfly. so hard)
  • 8 x 50 kick
  • 400 pull
  • 200 pull
  • 200 kick
So this was 3300 meters and a good workout, especially the butterfly strokes. Ivan and I made it home and I headed in to run some errands before going to work. I stopped by Image Optical, where picked up a pair of glasses for my husband and then tried on all sorts of crazy Chanel glasses. In my dream life, I am planning to own several pairs of Chanel sunglasses. They will be huge, and I will look like a hybrid of an Olson Twin and Jackie O.
I next headed in to work, where I had some soup and tea for dinner and then headed home to get in a Gilad workout. Also, at home, I learned that IVAN HAS LEARNED HOW TO GET OUT OF HIS BED. This is terrible news as it is hard for us to keep him in time out or have him stay in bed for his nap. I feel certain that a hardcore battle of the wills is about to start, and I must be the winner!!!
Track workout tomorrow at 6:00 AM.

I look forward to the book review. I hope there is something redeeming about Mr. Jackson, who forced the removal of 46,000 Native American people from their land east of the Mississippi, leaving most of them destitute, starving and sick with diseases they had no immunity to fight against. my sense has always been he was not a nice man.
