Wednesday: Swim

In the second month of my pregnancy, with Baby Sloan #2 the size of an olive, I have apparently dropped my abs workouts.  There is no reason for this.  Abs workouts are completely kosher for the next several months.  I do think that during pregnancy, some part of you just uses it as an excuse and gives up. I also ate a jumbo m & m cookie, cause I can.

 I plan to continue with some weights and abs, but it just doesn't seem to be happening on a regular basis.  I did have a great swim today, though we arrived a bit late, as Ivan did not wake up until five after 8:00 AM.

The workout was great, though my lateness caused me to miss 1000 yards of swim.  So, it was still 2800 meters, which isn't terrible, but I really enjoy getting to swim on time.  Workout as follows:


  • 2 x 100 kick @ 2:00
  • 3 x 50 zipper drill
  • 6 x 25 @ :30
  • 2 x 100 kick @ 2:00
  • 3 x 50 zipper drill
  • 6 x 25 @ :30
  • 2 x 200 
  • 8 x 25 IM
  • 8 x 25 kick
  • 6 x 100 pull
  • 300 kick
At home, it rained all day and Ivan was sort of trapped inside, so he had some stir craziness and I am gearing up for a sixteen mile run on Saturday, BUT I have just been told that the the temperature is dropping down to 25 degrees on Friday night and that makes me think that there is no chance of a 6:00 AM start time for me.  That is just too cold, and I refuse this earliness.
