Normally, when suffering a personal disappointment, I run a bit more or swim a bit more or start up some new thing like Pure Barre or a love affair with the mighty
Gilad. This week however, I am supposed to be taking it easy, and I have to say that needlepointing my troubles away just doesn't have the same effect. We have all had to take time off, and it never goes well for me. I don't sleep as well, when I really need to sleep. I feel sort of restless, and it is amazing how much time I have when I am not trying to get in a workout at various times of the day. It is also amazing how much longer you can lounge in bed or mope about in your pajamas or read fashion magazines. Today, for instance, I have read a good deal about how necessary sequins are for the winter, also fur and hammered silk.
Also, I ordered myself a fancy pair of shoes, because I think there is great comfort in knee boots.
Tomorrow, my day of no real obligations will include prioritizing my
New Yorker's in order of articles I would most like to read, needlepointing, and maybe sewing a floor-to-ceiling shower curtain for Ivan's bathroom. Also, I plan to waste approximately one solid hour facebook stalking and looking at pictures of society parties on style.com. Also, THANK YOU NOTES.
Will update you on Day 3 of no real obligations!!
