Thursday: Run and Yesterday Swim

So yesterday, my horrible eating caught up with me at exactly 4:30 PM.  Major misfortune in my stomach regions as well as really foul weather all sort of set in at the same time, and reduced my evening to Ivan and I wearing bike helmets in case of tornado induced head trauma and being unable to eat dinner due to just feeling miserable.

To back up to where my day kicked off, I had a lovely if somewhat lazy swim.  Ivan and I were late, but it was a happy morning, and we hit story time at the library after swim.  I am not saying that Young Sloan was the best behaved child at story time, but nothing terrible happened.  There was nothing broken and no one was hurt, and I call that a raging success.  At home, we went to swim lessons, had naps and made beet pancakes before the bottom fell out of the sky, and I felt intensely ill.

Once the weather scare was over, I turned on my electric blanket, plied myself with hot tea, and caught up on all my New Yorker's.  I read a great article about Reed Krakoff and his new design aesthetic, a commentary about the British opinion of the Royal Wedding, and a review of the new book about Malcolm X.  It was all quite good.  I lounged about in bed, slept terribly, and was up way too early as my child was up way too early.  I detoxed all day today and felt better.  There was beet juice and kale involved.

I had a great run in the afternoon, and a little run in with the chicken fried tofu at Whole Foods after I picked Ivan up from nursery school.  Aaah well.

Swim tomorrow and a tea party!!!!
